March News from Serenita
Residents from Serenita ARBD have been so busy during March…
They attended the ”World rocks against Dementia” national event in Torquay. There were performances from the Military Wives choir, and residents had fish and chips on the seafront.
They also attended a spring show at ‘secret world’ animal sanctuary, seeing rescued wildlife such as badgers and owls.
They decorated and prepared the home for our Easter celebrations…baking and making bunting etc..
Residents also began preparing our garden for spring with a herb and veg plot and hanging baskets.
St. Patricks day was a smash hit. We love the photo of our resident ‘Irish Rich’ who provided the flag.
Some of Serenita and Campania residents completed a four week cooking course with North Somerset council at St. Pauls church hall…feeding vulnerable people from the community. What a rewarding experience !
There was a lovely trip on the open top bus to Kewstoke last week, and many other activities over a very busy March.
Campania and Serenita got together over Easter weekend for loads of fun and activity.
They had cake decorating competitions, themed quizzes and bingo. They attended a lovely Good Friday and Easter Sunday church service together, and enjoyed an Easter party with….ELVIS !!!!! The buffet lunch was fantastic and had everyone going back for seconds.
Dave Stevens – Elvis impersonator put on a tremendous show which had our ARBD residents dancing, cheering and shouting for more….
The photos speak for themselves.
”Quite a few staff and residents had been unwell recently with the usual seasonal bugs, so we wanted to try and make spring the best ever for activities. I feel that our activity programme is improving all the time, and involving more and more varied choices for residents to take part in..and to challenge themselves. The support team really understands the importance of hollistic wellbeing right now, and that there is more to this than just physical wellness.” [Nicola Tweedle, Activities Coordinator]
