Vane Hill residents have been really busy….
Wow it’s all going on down at Vane Hill in Torquay. The residents have been really busy celebrating national holidays, cooking all kinds of dishes and even finding the time to take a short holiday to Paignton.
It all started back in February with the home getting involved in Pancake Day. “It all became quite competitive” said Steve the home manager, as everyone took to the frying pans to see who could make the best pancake.
Moving into March and St Patricks Day. This is always a favourite day in the home to celebrate and the residents put their heart and soul into making it a day to remember. A buffet was prepared with homemade cookies and biscuits decorated with green and white icing. The home was decorated with balloons and banners and all the residents enjoyed dancing the Irish jig to some Irish music.
Late March saw Steve and other staff members taking some of the residents to Goodrington Sands Caravan Park in Paignton. This is a spot visited regularly by the home. “It was so nice to see some of our residents taking some time to relax and enjoy the caravan while some popped to the local club house for a game of bingo and pool. The weather was chilly but it didn’t stop the odd walk along the coast. We will definitely be returning here again soon” said Steve
