With over 30 years of experience in residential care and support at Notaro ARBD Care Homes, we are no strangers to all stages of ARBD recovery and helping individuals on their path to regaining independence.

Through all this, one aspect of our roles that we will never tire of is seeing residents overcome their struggles and return to their lives – so when Milan, Serenita’s Care Home Manager, received this email from a family member of a previous resident, we were too touched to not share it:

Dear Milan

This is an overdue thank you so much to you and all your dedicated staff for the great help and support you provided for X. I really don’t think they would be here if Serenita had not provided that sober thinking time for them to make different choices. The round-the-clock care, the supportive environment and daily encouragement given by the Serenita staff provided them with the life-changing opportunity to improve their health and begin to self-care effectively. I will always be most grateful to all the staff.

X has been home for 4 months now and is making excellent progress both physically and mentally. They have focused carefully on resolving their health issues and are eating well and returned (mostly) to the old person I used to know. They are rebuilding their relationships with family members and are now very excited about becoming a Grandparent soon! As far as I can tell their sobriety continues. Always one day at a time though.

Again, please pass on my heartfelt thanks to your staff and thank you Milan, they would not have been able to reach this stage without your valuable support.

 My very best wishes

Family member
