The facilities at Serenita are provided with the intention of enabling independence. The large spacious lounge-diner, historically a ballroom, is a fantastic communal area for our residents. Here they can socialise and develop new skills together, through an ongoing activity programme or use the computers with internet access. Our activities coordinator ensures that there is always something going on. Each day our residents can be found getting involved in cooking, baking, art classes, gardening and growing fruit and vegetables.

Being able to provide a nutritional meal is an important skill and a rewarding and enjoyable social activity for many. Everyone plays an active role in all manner of tasks that keep the home running smoothly. Helping with the laundry, hoovering and general domestic duties are just some of the responsibilities undertaken by many of our residents.

There is always someone looking for a challenge in our games area which offers a pool table, table tennis, darts and a bistro-style cafe area. Residents can also choose to use the homes fitness equipment, great for improving mobility or general health and wellbeing. Yoga is also available for those individuals who wish to take part.

Our home may well be a care home but first and foremost it is our residents’ home.

Each room has been created to be a comfortable place to enjoy relaxing in. We also encourage you to bring the little things that make your new surroundings feel like home.

Debbie Brazier

Care Home Manager

Debbie joined Notaro Care Homes as a senior carer in 2005 and quickly became deputy manager soon after. In 2006 she was recruited as registered manager for Stuart House and continues to work there today. Debbie realised early on in her career that she loved working with people with mental health issues and her determination and drive has led her to become a very successful respected manager, enabling individuals living with dementia.

Debbie has gathered a plethora of qualifications pertaining to her role, including the registered manager’s leadership and management qualification.

Debbie now manages Serenita ARBD Care Home together with Stuart House. Debbie possesses a wealth of knowledge, experience and determination to ensure the residents of Serenita receive the very best care and support and continue successfully along their enablement programme and recovery journey.

Outside of work she enjoys spending time with her family and friends and running around after her granddaughter.
